Poste Italiane (the Italian Post Office) and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development have released a definitive stamp in tribute to Gucci to mark its 100th anniversary. This stamp is part of a themed series called ‘The wonders of the manufacturing and economic system.’
This initiative recognizes the role that the brand continues to play in the Italian economy and in promoting the "Made in Italy" hallmark on the international stage, one hundred years after the brand was founded. The stamp design features the Flora print, which was created for Gucci by Vittorio Accornero de Testa in 1966 and has become one of the House’s most iconic designs in the years since. The brand's centenary logo and "Dal 1921" (since 1921)—the year that the Florentine brand was founded—stand out against the floral backdrop.
The stamp, associated stamp collection products and the stamp storage folder will be available to purchase from Post Offices with stamp collection counters, special stamp-collecting Post Office branches in Florence, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Rome, Turin, Trieste, Venice and Verona, and on the poste.it website.
