For the next chapter of Gucci Guilty, Alessandro Michele and nose Alberto Morillas created a contemporary men’s scent that celebrates a new definition of masculinity, bound by no societal rules.
Here, the master perfumer gives insight into the new men’s fragrance.
Who is Gucci Guilty Absolute created for?
Absolute speaks to a new generation of men, his wants, needs, passions and his modernity. And, much like Alessandro Michele’s approach to fashion, the fragrance does so through a mixture of messages and ingredients that are bound by no rules.
How are the fragrance’s notes connected to Gucci?
There’s a custom blend of Woodleather; which is a tribute to Gucci’s history with leather which brings a richness to the fragrance. Goldenwood – also custom and exclusive to Gucci – brings a depth and complexity to the fragrance. The scent is an innovative woody elixir, an extract derived from the Nootka Cypress, which is considered one of the finest timber trees in the world. The resulting fragrance note is an ultra dry and smooth woody scent – a combination of the warmth of traditional wood with the rich ambery accents of the Nootka tree. A natural Vetiver note acts as an olfactive bridge to harmonize the woody and leathery signature notes. Patchouli essence brings a suggestive and mysterious undertone to the fragrance.
Why is the essence of Gucci Guilty Absolute so special?
The scent is defined by a singular fragrance structure, rather than the traditional fragrance pyramid of a base, heart and top note. Gucci Guilty Absolute features four key scent pillars – Woodleather, Goldenwood, Patchouli and Vetiver - each complementing one another equally to surround the wearer. Once applied, the fragrance remains unchanged on one’s skin.
