Gucci celebrated the unveiling of its third Hortus Deliciarum High Jewelry collection, designed by Alessandro Michele, during a special event at the historic Villa Albani in Rome, accompanied by a live performance from award-winning singer-songwriter Sam Smith.
The third chapter of Hortus Deliciarum — which translates from Latin as ‘Garden of Delights’ — is composed of unique pieces divided into five themes. Designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, this new encounter with the world of jewelry gathers the passions and obsessions of an imaginary Grand Tour. It embodies an ethical, aesthetic value by bringing together different cultures and restoring the splendor of rarities existing side by side.
The event, attended by Gucci President and CEO Marco Bizzarri and Alessandro Michele, took place at Villa Albani, which was designed in the mid-eighteenth century to house the prestigious collection of antiquities of Cardinale Alessandro Albani. Its gardens feature fountains, marble statues, box hedges and wild meadows and to support the Villa’s conservation program, Gucci recently made a donation towards the restoration of the Tempietto Diruto within its grounds.
