During the 48 hours after the Gucci Spring Summer 2019 show, Alessandro Michele was back at work with editor-in-chief of Purple Olivier Zahm and photographer Martin Parr.
The trio put together an exclusive 14th issue of Le Palace, a black and white fanzine with 13 editions originally published by the Théâtre between 1978-1983. Utilizing the same paper stock as the original zine, the new issue features images shot by Martin Parr in the lead up to Gucci’s runway presentation, documenting the atmosphere of backstage and street façade of the cult club seeped in history of decades of nightlife. Also inside its fold-out pages: articles reprinted from previous editions and Olivier Zahm interviews Prosper Assouline (who founded the zine and now runs Assouline publishing), and the actress Eva Ionesco, who stars in upcoming film Une jeunesse dorée set in Le Palace. A limited edition print run of the zine was distributed in Parisian clubs, restaurants, bookstores and bars.
