Celebrating SoHo’s creative heritage as a hub for decades in pioneering music, film, fashion, and literature—the House opens the Gucci Wooster Bookstore.
Recalling the spirit of New York’s small independent bookstores, the Gucci Wooster Bookstore speaks to the truly literary souls of today. Among the carefully-selected 2000 titles curated by Dashwood Books founder David Strettell, are contemporary, used and rare books on fashion and lifestyle, youth culture, art, interiors and architecture, illustration, design, and photography. The shelves also feature works by many talents who have collaborated with the House, including Petra Collins, Ari Marcopoulos, Ryan McGinley, Martin Parr and Florence Welch. The bookstore further defines Gucci Wooster's presence as a cultural gathering space, to host book signings and related cultural events for neighbors and creatives alike.
For its first event, Florence Welch presented her book ‘Useless Magic: Lyrics and Poetry’ available as a special edition with a cover designed by Alessandro Michele.
The singer and songwriter is also the protagonist of a new episode of the Gucci Podcast, where she discusses the craft of writing poems and lyrics with writer and poet Yrsa Daley-Ward. The episode also features an introduction to the Gucci Wooster Bookstore, by curator David Strettell.
