To Our Beloved Siranee, From the Wonder Factory
Presenting a series of fairy tales narrating three adventures taking place in The Wonder Factory, run by all kinds of creatures crafting Le Marché des Merveilles jewels and charms.
In the deep deep forest in a far far away land, you will find a The Wonder Factory. The factory is run by all kinds of animals who specialize in crafting jewels and lucky charms.
Now, the ninety-sixth anniversary of the factory has come. There is a myth that every ninety-six years, on the night of the first full moon, the Lioness Goddess would come and grant one wish.
Loma the Dolphin has been thinking a lot about Siranee. Siranee is a stone statue who has been a guardian of the factory since the beginning of its history. Siranee has been protecting everyone from all bad luck but he himself has no life. Loma talks with the other animals and they all agree that they will ask the Lioness Goddess to give Siranee life.
All the animals in the factory are very excited because they love Siranee. Everyone starts preparing offerings for the Lioness Goddess, some of them even travel far far away to search for something very special.
Chang and Eng the Siamese Roosters fly out to space. They peck and peck and peck on every bright star they find. Then, they return to the earth with beaks full of meteorites of a million colors.
Buppha the Butterfly sends out his best team of hummingbirds to find the sweetest nectar from the sweetest flower. After the hummingbirds bring back the nectar, Kusumalya the Bee produces the purest honey and uses her alchemical knowledge to turn honey into gold. This special gold is as clear as the honey and as bright as the sunrise.
Pitswart the Tiger wants to pick a lovely flower for the Lioness Goddess. However, he ends up scaring her and the flower cries many drops of diamonds. When Pitswart sees she’s frightened, he consoles the little flower and gives her one of his sharpest teeth to protect herself. In return, the flower gives Pitswart the diamonds of her tears and they become best friends from then on.
When the first full moon of the year arrives, the Lioness Goddess descends from the sky and visits The Wonder Factory. She is impressed to see how much everyone loves Siranee. And also very satisfied with all the offerings she receives. So, she puts all the things that everyone offers in her mouth and chews slowly. Chomp… Chomp… Chomp… When she opens her mouth, a little heart made of all the offerings falls into her hands. Then, the Lioness Goddess puts the little heart inside Siranee’s chest, and whispers something in his ear.
A few moments later, all the animals start to hear the sound of a beating heart, and, slowly, Siranee opens his eyes. Then he turns from a stone statue into a real panther with a huge smile on his face. Siranee the Panther looks around and sees all the animals cheering and dancing with joy.
We love you, Siranee!
