Glowy, dewy skin and contrasting tones detail makeup for the debut of the new Aria collection.
Deconstructing very classic looks and elevating them in a futuristic yet sophisticated way; for Aria, Alessandro Michele tells of a story of individuality. “A praise to essentiality. Emphasizing imperceptible elements as they are, irresistibly natural,” said the Creative Director.
Highlighting skin, eyes and lips never with the same formulaic approach but rather looking at each model and their character and deciding on small details to play on, Global Makeup Artist for Gucci Beauty Thomas de Kluyver explained: “It was really important that we maintained an element of individuality with every person so every look was tweaked in a little way to fit their [the models] personality.”
The new Rouge De Beauté Brillant lipstick collection and the Éclat De Beauté Effet Lumière multi-use face gloss takes center stage on the Aria runway where contrast is key: classic black eyeliner paired with blonde, almost invisible lashes, and matte textures with clear, luminous gloss on lips.
Makeup isn't about being prescriptive but rather liberated and hyperreal, as with the nails, lettered with the word ‘GUCCI’ in celebration of the House’s centenary this year.
Also featured is the House’s universal scent, Gucci Mémoire d’une Odeur, a fragrance that transcends gender and explores the power of memory, speaking to the film’s vision of the ability to renew and get back to life after winter has passed.
