A tall, ethereal-looking Australian singer-songwriter, a demure French songstress and an Indie rocker hailing from Tuscany: three of the five musicians Alessandro Michele chose to walk the Cruise 2018 fashion show in Pitti Palace. Below, we introduce you to them all.
James Righton
Former one-third of the new rave band Klaxons, 34-year-old English musician James Righton started his solo project Shock Machine in 2016. James walked the show in a floral brocade suit studded with three-dimensional brooches of faces from Greek mythology: Silenus, the companion of Dionysus and Hercules, the son of Zeus.
Jehnny Beth
French-born singer-songwriter, frontwoman of British rock band Savages, currently touring with Gorillaz and working on her solo record, Jehnny Beth wore a cape with all-over sequin with pink crystal GG tights from the women’s Cruise 2018 collection.
Lucio Corsi
Singer-songwriter from Tuscany who just released his first album ‘Bestiario Musicale’; walked the runway in a grey coat with faux shearling detail, metal bow headband and embroidered checked tote. Lucio—who also performed at the dinner party to celebrate the show held at Serre Torrigiani in Florence—also appears in the new Cruise 2018 campaign, Roman Rhapsody, shot by Mick Rock.
Arun Roberts
Towering at six feet eight inches, Australian musician Arun, who writes and performs with band Dirt Hand is also the bassist for the Gabriella Cohen band. He walked the runway in a camel coat, retro shirt with patch detail and linen loose pants from the new collection.
Francesco Bianconi
Frontman of the iconic Italian group Baustelle, which wore Gucci for their tour. The band first collaborated with the House by performing the song ‘Eyes without a Face’ for the Gucci Dreamscape film directed by artist Petra Collins. For the show, Frontman Bianconi wore printed floral pants and jacket over a silk shirt; like Lucio, Francesco also appears in the Roman Rhapsody campaign for Cruise 2018 photographed by Mick Rock.
