Taking its name from the Korean world ‘gaok', meaning ‘traditional home’, the House’s second flagship store in Seoul is based in the vibrant and eclectic Itaewon neighborhood.
GUCCI GAOK celebrates Itaewon’s diverse heritage and pays homage to its valuable tradition of inclusivity. The space is intended as a comfortable place and a warm environment to welcome visitors, providing a one-of-a-kind customer experience.
Its façade, designed by renowned artist SeungMo Park, is inspired by an imaginary forest. The artist explores the interplay between light and shadow, and the application of wire netting layers results in a vivid symbolism, illustrating the boundaries between what is real and what is an illusion. Reflecting on the environmental issues of our age, the artist expresses the existence and non-existence of nature, his concerns of what can be lost, leaving only the illusion of what might be left.
The store, which reflects the hectic and innovative spirit of the district, houses a wide selection of ready-to-wear, handbags, luggage, accessories, shoes, jewelry and Gucci Décor as well as collections exclusive to the store—including a special lineup of accessories featuring the archival Baiadera print combined with the GG motif.
