Named after a sports playing term, presenting Screener: the House’s new sneaker designed by Alessandro Michele.
A popular play in basketball, and other team sports, screener is a move blocked by a player from the opposing team, by standing beside or behind a defender, to free another teammate to shoot, receive a pass, or drive in to score. Gucci’s sneaker design is inspired by a vintage sports style from the 70s, mixing old school shapes and materials in a silhouette that features the House Web stripe, leather and perforated leather with a rubber sole and a leather tab at the back. Screener’s contemporary street look comes courtesy of a distressed finish, with some designs embellished with a removable crystal chain.
