The Chilean actress who’s challenging perceptions of the trans community through her art, stars in the new ‘The Performers’ film directed by Alejandra Márquez Abella. A former mezzo-soprano singer, the 30-year-old actress was the first openly transgender person to present an award at last year’s Oscars, taking the opportunity to speak out about the continuing plight of the trans community in her native Chile. Wearing pieces from the latest collection, the new film portrays Daniela Vega in two contrasting lights: a housewife and an exotic starlet.
