A journey of self-reflection, the new short film in collaboration with GQ and Vogue features Italian rap artist Ghali Amdouni and his mother.
Despite a childhood of instability and poverty, Ghali’s mother ensured she gave her son a desire to excel and to innovate through creativity. “School was really important to me,” explains the singer. “It’s there where I understood that I could do something with art. My teacher encouraged me to continue to write; and I learnt that I could fight my social battles through music, with words and lyrics rather than physical violence. I started with stories for homework and now, I write hits for Italy.”
This message of inclusion and togetherness, of corporation and love is reflected in his aesthetics and unique style. Captured in the family’s home country of Tunisia, Ghali and his mom both wear pieces from the Pre-Fall 2019 collection by Alessandro Michele.
